Pinetop-Lakeside is located in Arizona about 58 miles south of Holbrook, AZ and 150 miles southeast of Flagstaff.
The two communities of Pinetop and Lakeside incorporated as one town in 1984, and the name says it all! The many forests and lakes located in and around the area are the perfect settings for visitors who enjoy the great outdoors. The Apache and Sitgreaves National Forests, encompass over two million acres of magnificent mountain country in east-central Arizona. On the Sitgreaves, travelers can enjoy the Mogollon Rim (pronounced: muggy-own) and eight cold-water lakes. The Apache National Forest ranges in elevation from 3,500 feet to nearly 11,500 feet. Once you’ve seen the forests, be sure to stop by Mount Baldy and Escudilla Mountain and hike some of the 180 miles of trails.
If water sports are more your thing, try rafting the Salt River Canyon. Once you’re through rafting, you may want to take it easy with a game of golf at the Pinetop Lakes Golf & Country Club, which offers an 18-hole executive course with full restaurant and lounge. This area is known as the “Alps” of Arizona and the golf course is the highest in the Southwest at 8,500 feet above sea level. Pinetop-Lakeside stays active even when it becomes a winter wonderland. There’s plenty of skiing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and ice fishing to keep you busy.
If outdoor adventure and beautiful site seeing is what you’re looking for, then Pinetop-Lakeside is your year round destination.
